Dead Rising – Xbox360
So… First off, the 360 plain blows connected to a “Low-Def” TV.
Second off, the first good game came out for it.
Dead Rising is pretty much amazing. Zombies, you can pick up anything to hit them with. Soccer ball, Food Court Umbrella, billy club, Frisbee, plastic toy sword, lawn mower, zombie arms, and a catchup bottle to the face, and this is just what I saw, I’m sure there are better things out there. oh and probably guns, but who cares when you can use an umbrella to mow down like 30 zombies in a row.
I think there is a plot, but We could not read it on the TV we were playing on, but the game play makes up for it completely. I think you are supposed to save people or something, and take pictures…. I didn’t really get that part of it.
I feel bad for all those people that wasted 400 bucks or more on it when they didn’t have a hi def tv. I mean seriously, not readable at all.

Update: Nintendo Vs. All other recent game systems
Speaking with a friend that owns a video game shop about his world, There is not really much buzz about the PS3, and the XBox… well ya know it’s an XBox.
PS3 churning out like 12, because that’s all the processors they have for it so far.
Sony has a lot of people really aggravated with them, not just customers, but the people who make the games. No “playable” games at the expo’s. Suggested Dong/Banana controller. Playing catch up with the motion sensor(which will undoubted be a joke).
XBox, Pretty much completely failing in Japan, at least they have 2 sweet games coming out for it there now, but still nothing I’d actually play for the US system.
I like it better than the original. The controller is nice….
So… the Nintendo Wii.
Churning out like millions of Wii’s from Mario’s loins. Just like some of that crazy anime with all those tentacles.
It has a stupid name, but it’s fun. I hope the fans of it dub themselves Wiitards, I know I’m one. The Wiimotes are going to rock. I cannot wait to play tennis, Golf, Zelda, the Truck driving game, the shoot people with the gun game. Mario Paint! and Fuck There has to be jump rope game(probably Wario) somewhere in the mix, I cannot wait for this either. I’m Wiizzing right in my pants, and it’s getting everywhere. And guess what else, There is going to be like 12 of them at every store when I want to purchase one. Games 50 bucks system still tentative, I’m guessing 200ish. I’ll take 2.
Damn… I didnt realize I was this passionate about it. Maybe I’ll start a Wiilegion and Mario will be my prophet.
Update:
Looking around at the dev kit prices; PS3 between 30 and 50k, Wii between 1.5 and 3k. Not saying PS3 will not have some cool games. but that’s all overhead for the developer. If a small developer can develop and produce and distribute a game for under 50k, Think about all of the possibilities. Then throw in that they may not have to make physical product with the wii downloads. this price could drop to like 10k.
Update again: PS3
Adapter? What the shit is this?
Wii has ports for GC controllers(4) and Memory cards(2), and an SD slot!
Not to mention you will be able to download NES through 64 games…. Not all of them… but it will probably be enough of them to make you happy.

BR-DVD vs. HD-DVD Predictions and Assumptions
First assumption, partially taken from some hearsay statistics. 18% of TV users in the US have HD capabilities with their TV. Of those 18%ers, only about 2% actually know what’s up; the rest are “John Q’s”, Like my Parents. (No offense John).
My prediction is that Therefor they will not “really” be interested in HD quality Movies for an extra expense. Let’s just say for fun a BR/HD is $25 and a regular DVD is $20. My Mom is not going to buy the BR/HD disk, because she would then have to have purchased a $200 BR/HD player. The difference to “John Q” is not as great as the difference between that beat up copy of footloose on VHS that my mom has watched like 20 times and the new digitally remastered version she can get for $12 in the bargain bin of *expletive*-mart.
Second assumption, Sony and Microsoft “Will” Release their Video Game/Home entertainment boxes that will plug into.
Lets say for future projections the number hobbles to 20%. 20% of Americas TV’s now will be able to play BR/HD content. And the rest still have good ole DVD to fall back on (as long as their PS3 can play DVD movies, which at this point is doubtful). And they have just or previously purchased a 300-600 dollar device to do so. This is of course assuming that all 3% of Knowledgeable users, and all 17% of John Q’s are interested in Video gaming.
I just want it for my backups at work. Screw video stuff right now, Let the Computer nerds like myself decide which is better and build it on that format. Ok $ony? OK M$?
I dont remember where I was going with this, but I feel better now.
*No real facts were referenced in this article(other than my mom likes footloose, I mean shit, who doesnt?), nor were animals harmed.
